- Elevator hinge brackets
Something a little different this evening: The central
elevator bearing requires bolting and torqueing to the rear spar.
22in/lbs of torque to be exact. The bolts were coated with
Duralac to stop corrosion between dissimilar metals, and the nuts
had torque seal put on them to show they were torqued up and give
a visual clue for any movement.

The brackets on the end were
also riveted. Required the longeron yoke for this as the
flange was much higher here without the added thickness of the
spar strengtheners.
